Daniel is a multi-instrumentalist and as a singer songwriter he has released two albums of original material. His French EP Pour toi produced with Antoine Gratton continues to be a success with three tracks featured on top radio stations all over Quebec and top rotation on Siriusxm franco satellite radio. He performed his songs live at Place des arts in Montreal.
Music has always been a huge part of his life. Family gatherings in northern Quebec would involve singing, his uncles playing guitar, and grandpa on the Hawaiian lap steel. Daniel grew up listening to his mother singing to her favourite records, and to his father doing some of his own crooning and dancing. Music in this family is a legacy.
Daniel took up piano at the age of 5 starting off on a garage sale organ his mom bought him and he learned to play it by ear. At 13 he sang with his brothers rock band. In High School he was exposed to choral and classical music, which sharpened his musical skills and took him on a tour to Europe. Melodies always stirring within, Daniel started composing music from that time on.
Daniel recorded his first solo album Unmade Bed. An inspiring process led by his producer, engineer and drummer Fred Bouchard. Recorded and mixed at Michel Pépin’s Studio Frissons which has housed artists like Rufus and Martha Wainwright, The McGarrigles, Jean-Leloup, and more recently associated with Grammy award winning Arcade Fire. Other creative sessions were held at Pierre Marchand’s ( Sarah McLachlan, Royal Wood etc.) studio. Ben Wilkins also lent his talents with string and brass arrangements on some of the songs on the album.
